Each of the CDS workers assist in various jobs regarding the schools and their students. Everything from advocacy to sitting with the Indian Education Committee's (IEC's). From every school, each IEC is comprised of parent volunteers, to which some are elected officers to help run the IEC meetings and assign budgets from the Parent Surveys. Parent Survey's are collected at the beginning of the year after each JOM parent for their family selects what they believe is an important goal or priority for their school's IEC to fulfill. Therefore, it's very important for parents to fill out their survey before the start of school. At the start of every year, there is a chance, according to the Parent Surveys, for the IEC's to provide free backpacks and/or school supplies. Some of those IEC's and dates, locations, and times are as follows: Arlee: August 21st, 5:00pm-7:00pm, Arlee Community Center. Charlo: Masterlocks (HS and MS), Jumpdrives (HS), earbuds (all students) Dayton: Not considered a priority. Dixon: Not considered a priority. ECS: Not considered a priority. Hot Springs: Tentatively August 21st. TBD. Nkwusm: Not considered a priority. St. Ignatius: August 23rd, 12pm, Community Center, St. Ignatius. Polson: August 20th, 5:45-7:30, Indian Senior Center, Polson Ronan: TBD Please be sure to check in to see the updated times and locations. If you have any questions please be sure to call your school CDS at 675-2700 Alexandra ext.1072, Phylicia ext.1070. |
