We have ten Indian Education Committee's we work with. To give a general understanding of who works with who, let's go over some details.

Alexandra Plant, Community Development Specialist, works with the following school districts:

  • Arlee
  • Dayton
  • Early Childhood Services (all schools)
  • Nkwusm
  • Polson

Phylicia McDonald, Community Development Specialist, works with the following school districts:

  • Charlo
  • Dixon
  • Hot Springs
  • St. Ignatius
  • Ronan/Pablo

Each of the CDS workers assist in various jobs regarding the schools and their students. Everything from advocacy to sitting with the Indian Education Committee's (IEC's). From every school, each IEC is comprised of parent volunteers, to which some are elected officers to help run the IEC meetings and assign budgets from the Parent Surveys.

Parent Survey's are collected at the beginning of the year after each JOM parent for their family selects what they believe is an important goal or priority for their school's IEC to fulfill. Therefore, it's very important for parents to fill out their survey before the start of school.

At the start of every year, there is a chance, according to the Parent Surveys, for the IEC's to provide free backpacks and/or school supplies. Some of those IEC's and dates, locations, and times are as follows:

Arlee: August 21st, 5:00pm-7:00pm, Arlee Community Center.

Charlo: Masterlocks (HS and MS), Jumpdrives (HS), earbuds (all students)

Dayton: Not considered a priority.

Dixon: Not considered a priority.

ECS: Not considered a priority.

Hot Springs: Tentatively August 21st. TBD.
